SUMMARY:Skills & Drills (adults only) 1st August
DESCRIPTION:Our Skills & Drills sessions are there to provide an opportunity to practice those tricks and roller disco moves that you want to master and perfect. The ones that maybe need a nice smooth surface or a bit more time and space than you get during a busy roller disco. We are not able to offer tuition as we are not qualified coaches – these sessions are about self-training and development\, socialising with other skaters and perhaps listening to any tips and advice they might have. Or I suppose its also possible they are about getting out of the house on a Friday evening and hanging out with nice people 🙂 \nWe use half the sports hall at Deans Sport & Leisure and limit numbers to no more than 20 adults per session (these are sessions for 16 years and older)\, we leave the disco lights at home and there is also no skate hire so you must bring your own skates and pads. Come along and practice with like minded skaters\, bring along a set of youtube instructional videos or work your way through a list of moves like this one and lose yourself to skating for a couple of hours. \nTickets can be bought online via our event list right up until the event finishes. \n

DESCRIPTION:At our brand new host venue – Deans Sport & Leisure: two hours of roller disco\, with an 80s-tastic theme\, games (stuck in the mud and/or a limbo bar)\, skates for hire\, and awesome marshals to support or skaters and keep everyone safe. \nTickets will be available on the door even after our online sales halt at 3pm. \nThis is a brand new venue for us and you may have to excuse us while we settle in – but that won’t won’t matter – this event promises to be awesome\, with amazing music\, fancy dress for those that want to\, an amazing floor to skate on and about twice as much space to skate in as we’ve ever had before. It might be helpful to look at our what to expect page for Deans – in particular if you are hiring skates – you will need to to this on the ground floor\, before coming up to the 2nd floor where the rink is. \nAll ages are welcome but we require anyone aged 14 or under to be accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian throughout the event. Skaters can use their own skates provided they are clean and have wheels and brake blocks that will not mark the floor. More information about the event can be found on our FAQ page\, and we’d recommend anyone new to our events takes a quick look at that and at our what to expect page. \nDemand for our roller discos can vary – our events can sell out up to a few days in advance – we recommend you book tickets in advance to guarantee your place – we post to Facebook when our events sell out however if there is space\, we will sell tickets on the door.
